One of the things that has meant the most to me since taking ownership of Springbrook is finding ways to preserve the history that makes this property so special.
The building many of you now know as our equipment barn has a much bigger story to tell. This historic structure once served as a clubhouse for Springbrook Golf Course and is one of the oldest structures still standing on the property.
Rather than allowing another piece of Springbrook’s history to disappear, we made the decision to save it.
General contractor Mike Smith has done an incredible job breathing new life into this old building while preserving the character that makes it special. The work has included a new roof, replacement of damaged and rotted wood, updated electrical, new exterior wrapping, and absolutely stunning custom barn doors.
Most importantly, the structure has been repaired and protected so that it can continue standing here at Springbrook for decades to come.
There is something incredibly rewarding about looking at an old building that could have easily been torn down and knowing that instead, we chose to give it another chapter.
Springbrook has been part of this community since 1929, and as we work toward its future, I believe we also have a responsibility to protect as much of its past as we can. I am so proud of how this project is turning out and incredibly thankful to Mike for the craftsmanship, care, and attention he has put into restoring this piece of Springbrook history. The new barn doors alone are worth seeing!
We still have plenty of work ahead of us across the property, but little by little, we are bringing Springbrook back to life — without losing the history that made it Springbrook in the first place. Here’s to preserving the past while building the future.
